Dear Friends and Colleagues,
Madrid is organizing the 8th Domestic Meeting of the European HIP Society in June 2008. The previous Domestic Meeting was so phenomenal that this occasion is a real challenge for us.
We want to put together a balanced scientific program with Symposia on interesting and attractive topics, guest lectures by prestigious non-European colleagues, and specially, communications from our members that will present our current activities. You, the members of our Society, are the protagonists and directly responsible for the great advances we have made in the last years. The quality of your daily work is the foundation of our progress.
In organizing the meeting, beyond the capital importance of everyone’s participation, we only needed to find an adequate scenario. Madrid is a big modern city with 5 million people, but with a great history behind it. There are innumerable monuments; famous museums, like El Prado; spectacular and historic surroundings like the Imperial City of Toledo, or Segovia, or El Escorial, etc; impressive restaurants, either for “tapas” or for sophisticated international cuisine; exciting night life, with a myriad of discotheques, “flamenco tablaos”, etc; and popular spectacles like our famous bullfights; but particularly the impressive activity on our streets and squares, make Madrid the ideal scenario for a great 8th Domestic Meeting of the European Hip Society.
I hope that the scientific program and our hospitality match your expectations and we can spend enjoyable days together. I hope to see you among us in the 8th Domestic Meeting of the European Hip Society in Madrid.
